The ELAN
PC Teletext card is a totally new development from
Softel and is designed to transmit EBU specification
Teletext data and services from a PC platform.

Card fitted
in the SE3046 Teletext transmission unit - a 2U 19"
rack mounted unit for the professional user.
The Elan
card occupies a standard full length 8 or 16 bit PC
bus slot. The Elan card may be installed into a standard
PC with at least one spare full length ISA card slot.
A typical
Elan PC has hard disk storage for over 10,000 pages,
and a transmission capability of 3,000 pages (ie.
the total of normal and MPS sub-pages).
An optional
integral broadcast quality video inserter is available,
otherwise the Teletext output can be inserted into
a program video source using a Softel inserter or
Teletext data bridge.
Teletext
page editing maybe enhanced through the additional
use of Softel’s Flair editing software for Windows.
Flair maybe installed either on the Elan PC itself
or on separate Windows PCS linked by RS232 cable or
modem.
