The page
grabber card can be installed into any Windows PC
and allows the capture and display of off-air teletext
pages on the PC screen.
The card
makes an ideal addition to a Flair teletext editing
workstation by providing a number of benefits to the
user:
-
By tuning the card to the broadcasters
own teletext service, the user has immediate access
to all transmitted pages. A useful feedback check
on the current service.
-
The latest version of all transmitted
pages is stored on the PC hard disk. Any or all
captured pages can be saved in Softel EP1 file format
allowing easy access from Flair, or for transfer
to a transmission database.
-
The card can be configured to scan
around many different channels saving a full section
of different services to be saved on disk.
-
A single keystroke transfers any
captured page into a Flair edit window using a DDE
link.
-
Full browse facilities allow easy
viewing of stored pages in a variety of page sizes.
-
The software can be programmed to
`learn` which pages on different channels carry,
for example, news and sports information.
-
`Hover help` display icons help
the user quickly find pages of interest.
-
The card fits in a half length PC
slot, and comes with an aerial cable, installation
disk and user manual.
