A teletext transmission platform for 3rd party developers requiring real-time control of VBI data.

Intext-R2 is a 3/4 length ISA bus PC card designed to generate teletext data on up to 16 VBI TV lines. Teletext data for each TV line (normally one teletext row) including run-in and framing code is transferred across the PC bus under the control of PC interrupt driven software each TV field.

The card also has a look-ahead buffer allowing up to 32 consecutive fields worth of data to be loaded in advance. On-board logic ensures that data is optionally cleared to nulls after transmission to ensure data is not re-broadcast.

Teletext data timing and TV line selection is available using either software control or by on-board switches. An optional on-board video inserter module is available, with auto video bypass, allowing video to be passed through the card and teletext inserted onto selected lines.
