The SE3055/W is a teletext bridge with four data inputs designed to provide automatic switching between data inputs 1 & 2.

The unit also provides insertion of teletext data into a video signal. The unit monitors identical teletext data streams on input 1 and 2 and will switch the output from input 1 to 2 under failure conditions. Data presented to inputs 3 and 4 will be inserted into main video under all conditions.

The Watchdog bridge is ideal for systems where master/standby configurations are employed for teletext or data broadcast generators.

Switching criteria can be chosen from a selection of options

Switch under external control using a closing contact input [option/s].
Switch on conditions of poor teletext data quality (hamming errors and/or missing data rows) or under external control via the RS232 serial port. The unit will output a continuous status message via the serial port to report the current mode of operation. [option /v]
In addition to (2), a further check can be made in input data for data broadcast packet 31 continuity (if present) and for rolling seconds on the row 0. [option /0]

If both inputs fail the unit will output an apology message on X00-pages. Under switch-over conditions, the system alarm will trigger which can be used to control other external switches.
